William W.  Skelly, age 18, lived in 1860 lived in Berlin as a laborer.  He enlisted into the 1st Heavy Artillery, Company G on May 22, 1861.  He died on December 24, 1861 of typhoid fever at Fort Richardson, VA at age 20.  He was buried in Ledge Cemetery on Cashman Place in Kensington.
