Wadsworth A Washburn

Wadsworth A. Washburn was born about 1836 in Vermont, the son of Rev. Alfred and Emily Washburn.  He enlisted into the 16th Regiment, Company G on August 8, 1862 as a Sergeant.  He was killed on September 17, 1862 at Antietam, MD at age 26.  He was buried in the Bridge Cemetery on Farmington Avenue in Berlin.  The GAR Post (Grand Army of the Republic) was named in his honor.
