Reuben G. Bartow/Barton     enlisted on August 4, 1862 to the 16th Regisment, Company G as a private.  He was mentioned in Charlie’s Civil War by Charles Brandegee Livingstone, page 76, 116, 117:  “Berlin ought to be proud of such men as Nat Gladwyn & Rub Barton.  Gladwyn will have to pay for the rifle according to regulations, 300 dollars was a high price for such pimps of misery. Nathan S Gladwyn and Reuben G Barton were both privates in Co G 16.  They had apparently been guilty of a disciplinary infraction, hence Charlie’s scorn.”    On April 20, 1864 he was captured at Plymouth, NC.  He died on December 15, 1864 as a prisoner of war.
