Newton Henry Baldwin

Newton Henry Baldwin was born on April 19, 1842.  In 1850, Newton Henry age 7, lived with his parents Ida M, age 48, and Rhoda, age 43, and brothers Ira, age 17,  Merritt W., age 15,  and Andrew age 9.  On September 5, 1862, Newton and brother Merritt enlisted in the 25th Regiment, Company A as a private.  It was the same regiment that his brother Ira was a member.  He mustered out on August 26, 1863 in Hartford, CT.   In 1870, Newton, age 28,  lived with his wife, Ellen Hurlbert, and their son Ira, age 2.  He had children:  Wilbur born 1879, Harry born 1882, Horace born 1882, and Jennie born 1889.  He was a farmer, constable and justice of the peace.  Newton died on February 24, 1910 at age 67 years.  He was buried at West Lane Cemetery, Kensington.
