Moses McCrum

Moses McCrum was born in Ireland.  He married Elizabeth Nichol on February 12, 1857 and had children:  Anna and Eddie.  He enlisted into the 16th Regiment, Company G as a private on August 8, 1862.  He was promoted to Corporal on May 9, 1863.  He was promoted Sergeant on April 13, 1864.  He was mentioned in Charlie’s Civil War by Charles Brandegee Livingstone, page 76.  He was captured on Aril 20, 1864 in Plymouth, NC.  He was a prison of war in Andersonville.  He died as a prisoner of war in Charlestone, NC on October 2, 1864 at age 32.  He was buried in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin.
