Merritt Wells Baldwin, In 1850, Merritt, age 15 lived with his parents Ida M, age 48, and Rhoda, age 43, and brothers Ira, age 17,   Henry age 7, and Andrew age 9.   In 1860, Merritt lived with his wife Catherine, age 32, and their children Julia, age 5, Rhoda, and a baby.  Merritt was a farmer.  In 1870, a son Merritt, age 8, had joined the family.  On September 5, 1862, Merritt and brother Newton enlisted in the 25^th Regiment, Company A as a private.  It was the same regiment that his brother Ira was a member.  He mustered out on August 26, 1863 in Hartford,, CT,   He died on January 23, 1907 at age 72 and is buried in West Lane Cemetery, Kensington.
