Mathew Peck

Mathew Peck was born September 10, 1930, the son of Norris and Elizabeth Langdon Peck.  His brother, Captain Amos Peck brought home a Chinese boy, Joseph Pierce, who lived with the family and also served in the Civil War.  In 1860, he was age 20 and  a mechanic in New Britain.  He enlisted from New Britain into the 1st Calvary, Company C on November 15, 1861.  He mustered out on December 9, 1864.  After the war, he returned to live in New Britain and married Rose Fagan.  He died on September 10, 1930 age age 91 and was buried in the Blue Hills Cemetery (South Burying Ground).
