Linus A Porter

Linus A Porter was born on April 9, 1830 the son of Lotan and Clarissa Beckley Porter.  In 1860, he was age 30, lived in Berlin with his mother,  Clarissa Beckley Porter, and siblings: Edwin, age 32, a farmer,  Emily, age 28, Caroline, age 25, and Frederick, age 23, a farmer.  He enlisted into the 16th Regiment, Company G on June 8, 1862.  He was mentioned in Charlie’s Civil War by Charles Brandegee Livingstone, page 21.

He was wounded on September 6, 1862.  He died on September 6, 1862 at age 33 and was buried in Beckley Cemetery in Berlin.
