Julius Altman

Julius Altman enlisted into the 6th Regiment Infantry, Company H on August 27, 1861 as a private.  He was wounded on July 18, 1863 at Fort Wagner, SC.  He reenlisted on December 24, 1863.  He was wounded a 2nd time on May 16, 1864 at Drewry’s Bluff.  He transferred on February 17, 1865 to the 2nd Infantry, Company I.  He was dismissed on August 8, 1865.  His wife Pauline received a Civil War pension in Kansas.  He died of apoplexy on July 27, 1892 in Leavenworth, Kansas.
