John L. Tuttle, a mechanic, age 35 in 1860 lived in Berlin with his parents Jarvis, age 58 and Mary, age 63.  He enlisted into the 1st Heavy Artillery, Company H as a Corporal on May 22, 1861.  He was released with a disability discharge on May 19, 1862.  After the war, he continued to live with his mother in Berlin.  He died on April 11, 1871 and was buried in the Bridge cemetery on Farmington Avenue in Berlin.
