John Hubbard, was born in 1843 and lived in 1860 in Berlin with his parents:  John Hubbard,  age 54, a farmer, Lucretia, age 45, and siblings: Henry, age 25,  and Frederick, age 14.  He enlisted into the 1^st Heavy Artillery, Company G as a musician on May 22, 1861.  His brother Henry served in the navy.  He was discharged on May 23, 1864.  He married Martha and had children:  George, John, Frederick, Fannie, and Cora.  At the time of his death he had two sons: John and George, and two daughters: Mrs. Colby and Mrs. Sugentine.   He died on March 26, 1920 at age 88 and was buried in Wilcox Cemetery in East Berlin.
