James L. Bailey, was 20 years old living in Kensington in 1860 as a farm laborer.  His parents were Lester C. and Elizabeth Clark and  his sisters were Huldah Elton and Anne Gladden.  On June 21, 1861, he enlisted in the 5th Regiment, Company B as a private.  He was killed on August 9, 1862 at Cedar Mountain, VA.
