James H Arnold

James H. Arnold lived in Berlin with his parents James C. and Abigail Flagg and sister Mary.  His father was a farmer.  He married Angeline and had a daughter Gertrude  He enlisted in the 16th Regiment, Company K on August 7, 1862 as a private.  He is mentioned in the book:  Charlie’s Civil War by Charles Brandegee Livingstone, page 76.  He was captured on April 20, 1864 in Plymouth, NC.  He died on February 27, 1865 while a prisoner of war enroute to Wilmington, NC. (near Goldsboro county, KY)  He is buried in Maple Cemetery, Berlin, CT
