Huber Bushnell

Huber Bushnell, age 18, lived in 1850 in Rocky Hill with his parents: Hiram age 45, his mother, age 40, and siblings: Ellen age 20, Hiram age18,   and Charles.  He enlisted from Farmington into the 16th Regiment, Company K on August 15, 1862.  He was mentioned in Charlie’s Civil War by Charles Brandegee Livingstone, page 76.   He was captured on April 20, 1864 in Plymouth, NC.  He was a prisoner of war in Andersonville.  He was pardoned on December 10, 1864.  He was discharged on June 23, 1865.   By 1880, he lived in Berlin with his wife Angeline Atwater, age 29, and children Gertrude age 18, Arthur age 5, Hubert.  His Civil War pension was collected by his wife Angeline.  He died on May 9, 1909 at age 85 and is buried in Maple Cemetery, Berlin, CT.
