Henry R Gilbert 1^st enlisted in the 1^st Heavy Artillery, Company H on May 22, 1861 as a private.  He was discharged on May 21, 1864.  He died on February 22, 1867 at age 27 and is buried in the Christian Lane Cemetery in Kensington.
