George Andrew Pollard, age 21, lived in 1860 in Berlin as a farm laborer.  He enlisted into the 1^st Heavy Artillery, Company G on May 22, 1861.  He reenlisted on November 6, 1863.  He was wounded on July 24, 1864 in Petersburg, VA.  He mustered out on September 25, 1865 in Washington DC.  After the war, he returned to Berlin with his wife Fanny, age 33.  He died on June 12, 1920 at age 83 and was buried in the Clinton Cemetery.
