Franklin E. Keach enlisted into the 1^st Heavy Artillery, Company H on May 22, 1861.  He was discharged on May 21, 1864.  His wife Frances collected his Civil War pension.  He died on September 4, 1918 at age 80 and was buried in Naugatuck, CT.
