Edwin J. Clark was born in 1840.  In 1850, he lived in Berlin with his parents Rimick, age 33, Abigail, age 27, and siblings: Watson, age 9,  Pruline, age 4,  John, age 1, and Lena, age 65.  In 1860, Edwin, age 18, lived in Berlin as a farm laborer.  He enlisted into the 3rd Regiment, Company K on April 24, 1861.  He mustered out on August 12, 1861.  He reenlisted on October 22, 1861 as a private.  He was mentioned in Charlie’s Civil War by Charles Brandegee Livingstone, page 50, 51.  He was promoted on June 1, 1862 as a Corporal..  He discharged on May 23, 1864He married Annie Deming and had a child Lillian.  He lived on Worthington Ridge.  He was a Town Selectman 1894, 1895-1901.  He died on December 8, 1923 at age 82 and is buried in Maple Cemetery, Berlin, CT.
