Charles N Penfield

Charles N. Penfield, age 18,  was a mechanic in 1860 lived in Berlin with his parents:  Titus, age 53, a farmer, and Julia, age 56,  and siblings:  Henry M, age 27, Eunice, age 20,   Walter E, age 15.  He enlisted into the 16th Regiment, Company G on July 30, 1862. Charles and his brother Walter were Civil War soldiers.  He was wounded on September 17, 1862 in Antietam, MD.  He died on November 26, 1862 at age 20 and was buried in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin.
