Bernard A. Fagan was born on August 22, 1830 in Ireland., In 1860 he was 29, lived in New Britain with his wife Elizabeth, age 24 and children:  Bernard, age 6, Lizzie, age 4, Minnie, age 1.  He enlisted from New Britain into the 13 Regiment, Company A on September 23, 1861.  He was discharged on July 31, 1862.  He reenlisted into the 13^th Regiment, Company C on August 24, 1864.  He transferred to the 13^th Battalion Infantry on December 29, 1864.  He was promoted to Corporal on February 1, 1865.  He was discharged on June 29, 1865.   He died on August 18, 1868 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
