Bernard Woodford was born about 1840, son of Newton and Jane and sibling Mary.   He enlisted from Kensington into the 1^st Regiment, Company G on April 20, 1861.  He received a disability discharge on July 7, 1861.  By 1880, he was 38 years old and lived in Berlin with his mother Jane, age 58.  He died on April 10, 1886 at age 40 and was buried in West Lane Cemetery in Kensington.
